4 Myths about Professional Family Photography

There are certain misconceptions about family photo shoots that I get asked about a lot. I always think it’s such a shame that people are reluctant to get their family photos because they worry about things that are simply not true. So, today I’m here to tell you “Don’t let these stop you from getting professional family photos!”

1. YOUR CHILDREN HAVE TO BEHAVE

Photo shoots can be lots of fun for kids and I love it when kids run a bit wild at my photo sessions. It gives me great opportunities to capture them as they are.

2. IT'S ALL ABOUT GLAMOROUS OUTFITS

I want to capture your connection and portray you as you are. Perfect outfits and long flowing gowns that just aren't you are not needed for this. Yes, I can give you advice if you are unsure what to wear but clothes do not play the main role in my work - you do.

3. POSING WILL BE VERY AWKWARD

Yes, there will be some guidance from me, especially at the start, but I promise it won't feel awkward, and you and the kids will have plenty of time during the session to engage with each other and just be yourselves.

4. PHOTO SESSIONS ARE NOT FOR EVERYONE

My photo shoots are as unique as you are as a family. Is your family calm and introvert? Our session will be calm and relaxed. Are your kids a bit crazy (like mine...)? We'll be doing plenty of running around! You do you, and I will capture you and freeze some of those crazy/calm/funny/loving moments for you.
